Voting for a candidate does not mean that you agree with them 100% or that you support everything they have ever said or done. Often, we are forced to choose between the lesser of two evils. (However, we can improve our future options by getting involved and training up God's people to be Biblical Citizens!)

Sheriff
Matt Rhodes
Matt Rhodes' focus is to stop the drug trafficking and all that goes with it. He plans to make the school system safe by getting the gangs out of the schools. He also plans to background teachers and all staff who work within the school system. There will be no more sexual assault in the schools. He believes that civil rights are being infringed upon in New Hanover County and this violates the constitution. No mask or vaccine mandates. He will not enforce red flag laws and will support the rights of law-abiding citizens to have a firearm for personal protection.

Tom Toby
I have been super impressed with Tom. He is NOT a politician. He is fed up with the current state of affairs and has risen to the occasion to stand up for the people. Tom has a strong faith in God, love for America, and commitment to the constitution.
He has been very active over the past year fighting against mask and vaccine mandates. He is a graduate of the citizen academy with the Sheriff's office and understands what is needed to end gangs, drug and human trafficking in NHC. He is committed to preserving New Hanover County for future generations.

Josie Barnhart
Josie is an excellent candidate for School Board and I am thankful she is running. She is a former Math teacher and a mom of 3 small kids. She is passionate, hard-working and respectful in everything she does. She has been very active over the past 2 years to get kids back in the classroom and mask free. She is also passionate about improving the quality of education for the kids and improving math literacy!

LeAnn Pierce
Being a small business owner for over 30 years, LeAnn is pro-business and supports entrepreneurship. She understands the struggles of business owners in our region. LeAnn will fight to keep our businesses free from overregulation and over taxation. She is the fiscal conservative we need.

Pete Wildeboer
Pete is the only Conservative incumbent. He is a former educator and principal and is currently a preacher! Pete will work with the new slate of conservative candidates to make positive changes for our kids.

Pat is awesome!! She is a woman of God first and foremost. But, she is also an entrepreneur, business owner, child advocate, and fierce defender of freedom. She has attended and spoke at virtually every Board of Education, County Commissioner, and Health and Human Services Board meeting over the past 2 years to get masks off the children (and everyone!)

Melissa is a mother of two, an educator, and a Christian Conservative. She is pro-liberty and pro-parental rights. She is passionate about restoring integrity and honesty and improving student safety.
NC House of Representatives
John Hinnant
John is running for the North Carolina House of Representatives because he feels our community needs someone who represents the people of our district in Raleigh. Parents deserve a right to choose the school their children attend so their family will not be stuck in generational poverty that is so prevalent in communities across North Carolina. He feels our state leadership needs to focus on fostering new jobs and economic growth. Economic growth can best be supported through safe communities and a sensible tax structure that is easy to understand and does not bleed our citizens and businesses of valuable resources during these unstable times. John is a commonsense conservative that still works to provide for his family. Raleigh has too many politicians serving special interests right now. It is time for change in the 18th District.
Voting Biblical Values
Voting Biblical Values means to be equipped with the ability to see any issue or candidate through the lens of Scripture and to use wisdom to make our best judgment based on the options with which we are presented.

The issues of the day change. Political parties and platforms change. God’s Word never changes. The vote of every Christian should be based on the principles of Scripture and not persuasive personalities.

The key is not telling people what to vote for, but rather teaching them how to develop and to vote from a Biblical perspective.

Christians are looking to pastors for spiritual direction, even in the area of government. This guide can be used as a quick reference handout or bulletin insert. You might also expound upon issues in a Bible study or message. However, you decide to use it, let's be ready to give them Biblical principles as they apply to the issues of the day.

What Should We Consider When Voting?
Consider not only the candidate but the party platform. The Republican and Democratic parties have radically different principles for which they stand. Even if your choice for a candidate is not desirable, the alternative candidate is generally much worse.

Jesus Christ is not on the ballot, so in essence, we always have the choice of the lesser of two evils. Let's work with the political party that has the most biblical stand and the greatest opportunity and desire to preserve our freedoms allowing us to continue to freely propagate the Gospel.

WHY WE EXIST
​
A battle is raging for the heart of this nation. It’s a battle over truth—and how you and I will live out our faith in the public square.

As in the days of Isaiah, we are living in a culture that calls evil good and good evil. But our struggle is not against man. We struggle against the lies and division of the spiritual forces of this world.
For years, Christians have bought into the lie that faith is a private matter. As a result, more than 25 million Christians who are registered to vote do not vote in Presidential Elections, and as many as 65 million Christians do not vote in local elections.

So while secular progressives have actively sought to implement a counterfeit worldview at every level of government, Christians have remained quietly inside the walls of the church. As a result of apathy at the voting booth and in public life, we’ve suffered devastating moral decay, declining religious freedom, immoral national debt, and the erosion of traditional family values.

Imagine 90-million Christians in America being activated to PRAY, THINK, and ACT on their faith. And when informed Christians vote, they bring the influence of their convictions and beliefs to the public square.
