God Loves You (and so do I)

Updated: Jun 23

  • “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

  • For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

  • Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

  • This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” John 3:16-19

  • Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.

  • But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

  • “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

  • This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

  • This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

  • We love because he first loved us.

  • And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.” 1 John 4:78-10, 19,21

  • “Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

  • No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

  • And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.” 1 John 3:7, 9, 23

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
