What does God say about (and to) His Creation?

Nature is human life and everything that surrounds us like the water, air, land, sky, fire, river, forests, animals, birds, plants, sun, moon, stars, sea, lakes, rain, and thunder. It is a phenomenon that can’t be explained by science. The Bible is the only source that will shine a light on the wonders of this planet we call earth.

Isaiah 60:1

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

Genesis 1:1-2

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Exodus 20:11

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Creation and God, as the Creator of all things, is a common thread that weaves its way throughout the Bible. Genesis tells us God made us male and female to be His image-bearers. That means his decision to give us gendered bodies wasn’t arbitrary. It was necessary so that we could have the capacity to bear his image. God created mankind male and female in his own image.

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Genesis 2:18

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion for him who corresponds to him.”

God created one woman for Adam, not many women and not a man! As for the idea of homosexual “marriage,” there is no biblical basis for it, in spite of the attempts of some to justify it. Homosexuality is uniformly condemned in the Bible as sin (Lev. 18:22; Rom. 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 6:9; 1 Tim. 1:10). Sexual immorality is a term used in the Scriptures to refer to certain sexual activities forbidden by God. It includes adultery, prostitution, sexual relations between unmarried individuals, homosexuality, and bestiality.

Marriage is honorable and precious because God instituted it in the Garden, before sin entered this world. Before that, He concluded that it was not good for man to be alone (Gen. 2:18), and so He created Eve for Adam. Since marriage comes from God and was begun with the first man and woman, it should be held in honor among all.

The Ten Commandments represent God’s personal interest in bringing out the best in His children so that we may live life to the fullest. The Commandments set God’s people apart, identify right from wrong, and uphold the ultimate importance of love for God and neighbor in promoting peace in this life and salvation after.

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV)

1

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.

3

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

4

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

5

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

6

“You shall not murder.

7

“You shall not commit adultery.

8

“You shall not steal.

9

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10

“You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.”
